Last winter, around 7000 places registered as Warm Welcome Spaces and opened their doors to everybody - that is absolutely everybody - who wanted to come. People came to those spaces initially out of need, not being able to afford to heat their homes, make a cuppa or cook a meal. Warm Welcome Spaces filled a desperate need. However it soon became clear that people did come out of need but stayed for the company, not to be lonely and to meet people. In Spring, many of those Warm Welcome Spaces have then converted into Places of Welcome and opened year round.

Unfortunately, the economic situation has not improved since last winter and many of the most vulnerable people are very worried about this coming winter.

Warm Welcome have just launched again for this coming winter, community spaces are invited to sign up to this initiative and open their doors for a couple of hours per week (or more!).

If you're interested in opening a Warm Welcome Space (winter only), go to the website
If you'd like find out more about opening a Place of Welcome (all year), check their website.
