Restored wants to see a network of churches that never tolerate abuse, but instead provide a safe refuge for survivors, journey with them on their road to recovery, and demonstrate God’s deep love for them. These churches are called Restored Beacons.
So far this year, Restored has had the joy of welcoming three new churches to the Restored Beacon Network!
Teams at East Hampstead Baptist Church, Leeds Vineyard Church and Bretton Baptist Church have completed their training and are now up and running as Restored Beacon churches, shining a light into the darkness for survivors of domestic abuse.
Eli, Restored Beacon Coordinator at Leeds Vineyard, had this to say about the impact she's already seeing:
"Whilst we are still in the early stages of setting up structured support locally, quite a few of our survivors have started to access support from Restored, such as signing up for online support groups, joining the survivors network, and booking spaces on the survivors retreat. There is a real buzz about our partnership with Restored amongst survivors, other church members and leaders alike. A couple of our survivors have stepped up to be volunteers and even organised and led projects themselves. Recently, I have been approached by several people in the church who aren't volunteers, but who support survivors that they are friends with. They have found it helpful to receive prayer, emotional support and resources, too."
It is exciting to see more Restored Beacons added to the map, so that survivors across the country can receive support from their local church community.
