CHRISTIAN LEADERS CALL FOR MORE VISUAL LEARNING
Brothers Andy and Chris Frost are urging Christian leaders to use more visuals in their mentoring, teams and sermons. This coincides with the launch of their new book, ‘Leadiagrams’, the first Christian leadership book based solely on diagrams.
In ‘Leadiagrams’, Andy and Chris draw on their combined 40+ years of Christian leadership in over 20 nations, alongside 3 masters degrees on leadership, to bring together 52 big and memorable diagrams from their own distinct experiences, as well as from leading thinkers in emotional and spiritual health, theology, business and mission.
Andy Frost, director of Share Jesus International and joint CEO of Gather, says, ‘In our visually based and time-poor culture, images have become indispensable for effective communication. If a picture paints a thousand words, just imagine what a properly understood diagram can do!’
Chris Frost, lead elder at Gateway Church, and UK team leader of ChristCentral churches, says, ‘When Jesus taught on worry, he told people to look at the birds of the air and the lilies of the field! Christian leaders need a new freedom and creativity to communicate visually, and not just auditorily.’

‘Leadiagrams’ contains a year’s worth of weekly leadership diagrams to equip Christian leaders in every sphere of life. The diagrams are split into four sections: Leading Yourself, Leading Others, Leading Projects and Leading Church Life.
Each diagram is unpacked in segments: Setting the Scene – providing a context for understanding the significance of the diagram; What’s the Big Idea? – explaining the main concept that the diagram summarises; Thinking Biblically – applying a biblical lens through which to understand the diagram; How Do I Apply It? – outlining how the idea can be implemented; Questions for Reflection – provoking further personal thought; and Go Further – signposting towards the original or related material for deeper understanding.
