St Gemma’s Hospice is a Leeds-based charity that provides expert care and support for local people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. It offers care to patients and their carers in the Hospice’s In-Patient Unit, through the St Gemma’s community team and via Out-Patients and all of its care is completely free of charge.

The largest hospice in Yorkshire, it welcomes and provides care to everyone regardless of people’s age, gender, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation or diagnosis.

Chef Executive Kerry Jackson said: “It’s always a pleasure to welcome Bishop Nick to the hospice.

"He has been a patron for almost 10 years and we are grateful for his continued support and for helping to promote the vital work of the Hospice to the Diocese and wider community.”

During his visit, Bishop Nick said: “It has been a privilege to hear about the important work carried out both at the Hospice and by the St Gemma’s team in the community.

“Living with mortality and death is a most important part of life. It is my honour to be a patron of this vital, local charity.”
