In2Out is a mentoring and befriending organisation based at HMYOI Wetherby. We work with young people aged 15-21 years old leaving custody, supporting them to get their lives back on track and make a positive contribution to their communities.

We are looking for a passionate and gifted Funding and Communications Officer to develop support from private individuals, companies, trusts and major donors to sustain and grow the work of In2Out, whilst raising awareness of our work through telling the stories of the young people we work with and the impact that we are having.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience and a proven track record in raising funds from trusts and grant-making foundations and supporting communications within the charity sector.

You will bring together all outward facing media and marketing materials to present a dynamic and compelling voice for the work of the organisation as we seek to engage support. You will be an excellent written and verbal communicator - passionate about the life-changing work In2Out does with young people and have strong alignment with our Values

As well as taking the lead on identifying prospective funders and writing proposals and reports, you will also manage the reporting cycle, working closely with the Executive Director to maximise grant funding opportunities. Within the overall annual “cycle”, you will be responsible for the production of the Annual Review, Monthly Newsletter and Monthly Prayer Updates as required. This includes writing copy and liaising with printers and designers, and you will take the lead on developing key standard messages for the organisation and managing the content of the website and social media. You will have a high level of computer literacy including with Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as image and design software.

The successful candidate will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check and will, as required, join In2Out mentors inside HMYOI Wetherby and in the community to meet with the young people leaving custody.

The role is part-time, ideally 3 days per week (22.5 hours) “hybrid” working based upon task and work needs. Normal working days are Monday-Friday.

Contract: 6 months (may be extended or become permanent by agreement).

Starting salary: £26,805 (FTE).
