The relaunch of Leeds City of Sanctuary which will be on Monday 19th June from 17:00-19:30 at the Leeds Playhouse.

I am delighted to say that after a few dormant years, Leeds City of Sanctuary is now really active again. We have lots of Sanctuary Awards to give out on the 19th June to a school, a College, a university Centre, a Theatre Company, and a Garden of Sanctuary as well as reaccreditation awards to The Leeds Playhouse and recognition of others who have recently received awards in our area such as our Integrated Care Board (Health), Holton Moor Women’s Football Club ( the first ever Women’s football club of Sanctuary), Opera North (Reaccredited) and others working towards awards such as our 3 universities and Leeds City Council!

As well as celebrating awards there will be lots of international food and music, poetry, stories, an update on the current situation people seeking sanctuary are facing, and what we can do together to help.
