Places of Welcome - Learning Community

Monday, 14th October: 10:00am - 12:30pm
If you lead a Place of Welcome, in whatever setting, it can be all too easy to feel overwhelmed.
So many questions can arise.
How can you deal with the challenges of your community? How do you equip your volunteers, and yourself, with the right training and the best values/safeguards to keep people safe and strong? How do you connect and work well with local partners? What sort of ways can you develop your ‘offer’ to create more effective impact? Where can you get the funds to keep it all going, not just in the short term?
Above all, how can your Place of Welcome not just survive, but thrive?
We have established a learning community for Places of Welcome leaders in the West and North Yorkshire region to share best practice, learn from one another and from experienced guest speakers, explore new innovative ideas and increase our confidence in the work we are doing. New members are always welcome!
Our next session will be on 15th July at Church House, 17-19 York Place, Leeds LS1 2EX. Coffee served from 9.30 for 10.00 start, finishing around 12.30 and followed by a light lunch – we will be getting to know each other and looking at what we can achieve as a learning community.
Please join us, bring a friend / colleague. Perhaps just come to one session and see what you think. We believe it will be well worth your time – come and be encouraged.
And your participation will be very welcome indeed.
Please let us know if you have any dietary / access requirements. Thank you!
