Weekly Devotional - The Rock that Cannot be Moved

My friends, there is something to be said for a solid rock that cannot be moved in any situation, circumstance and event.  He is described in Numbers 23:19 as “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

I don’t know about you, but I am thankful that I serve a God with these heavenly characteristics because I know what it is like to deal with humans who are unstable as a wind – myself included.

Christ-follower, whatever your lot is in this side of heaven hold on to the confidence that:

  • God is your Rock – This unwavering truth, will allow you to embrace your situation, circumstance and event with peace and grace that can only come from God.
  • God is your salvation – The greatest need we all have is salvation.  What does it profit us if we gain the whole world and lose our soul (Mark 8:36). We need the assurance of the unmovable rock that we will spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
  • He is our fortress – It is a wonderful feeling to know that as life’s terror, fear or darkness attack us, God shields us and becomes our fortress.

Christ-follower, don’t be shaken, let Christ be your immovable Rock. If you are currently not a Christ-follower, choose the only Rock that cannot be moved.

All glory to God!
