The hardest goodbye of the year

For many of our Year 6 children, this time of year is bittersweet.

As they get ready to leave primary school and begin the adventure of Year 7, they're also saying goodbye to Kidz Klub.

For many, that's a much bigger moment than you might imagine.

Over the years, Kidz Klub has become a place where they feel safe, known and loved. A place where they've built friendships, found trusted adults and discovered they belong. So over the last few weeks, we've been talking with them about the changes ahead, praying with them and helping them prepare for this new chapter.

We've also been introducing them to Space, our brilliant partner youth organisation for 11-18 year olds in inner-city Leeds and some have even signed up to continue their journey with us as Young Leaders.

During one of these sessions, one child handed us this card, see above, which says more than we ever could. Thank you for helping create a place where children feel safe enough to grow, brave enough to take their next step, and confident that they're not walking into it alone

If you're one of our Praying Friends, would you pray especially for these Year 6 children over the coming weeks?

Around 22% of the families we support through Family Support Work (headed up by Laura) have children who are currently not able to attend school. We would love this lovely group of children to have a different story.

Please pray for the number of our children in year 6 that have voiced concerns of bullying. Pray for them that this will stop when they go into high school and also that those children that have been bullying others, will find a new way of dealing with any struggles they may be facing, causing this behaviour.

Please pray that they settle quickly into secondary school, make good friends, find teachers who encourage them, and feel that they truly belong. Pray that they would enjoy school, flourish there, and continue to know that God is with them wherever they go.
