Weekly Devotional: Take up thy cross and follow Jesus

My friends, don’t be deceived, serving God is the best decision you could ever make.  However, satan wants you to believe otherwise by lying to you that Serving the Lord is limiting – not so.  In fact, satan promises what he cannot deliver and God always delivers on His promises because He is not a man that He should lie -  Numbers 23:19

Taking up our cross and following Jesus means that we must choose daily by the power of the Holy Spirit to refrain from engaging in activities that will not honor God and conduct ourselves in ways that bring Him glory.  Doing this requires a fresh awakening of courageous faith in our personal and business relationships. This means we:

  • Must choose to identify with Christ - No matter the prevailing wind of the society we live in.  The societal wind is worth nothing, it is fickle and changes but the God we serve is an immovable Rock.
  • Value the eternal perspective we have as Christ followers – which means our attitude and behavior should consequently reflect the hope of Heaven.
  • Trust in God’s will to help us persevere – No one partners with God and loses out.  He always pays good dividend.  He will always help us to make the right choices to do life with Him daily.

Christ-follower, daily take up your cross and follow Jesus. If you are currently not a Christ-follower, what are you waiting for – life without Jesus is a dead end – come.

All glory to God!
