St George’s Crypt, a renowned Leeds-based homeless charity, has opened a fully refurbished shop in Armley, Leeds, and the official opening was on Saturday 24th February. Refreshments of tea and cake were provided, and the ribbon was cut by Rachel Reeves MP.
St. George's. Crypt has three Preloved shops; Pudsey, Roundhay and Armley and we are excited to reveal the refurbishment of our Armley Shop.
Natasha Morosini, Head of Retail at St. George’s Crypt said that “We are extremely excited to show our newly refurbished shop off to the Armley community, and honoured to have a special guest to officially open it. The Armley team have worked extremely hard to refill the shop back up after the building work. It’s looking fantastic and is full of lovely items.”
When asked about the importance of the shops Natasha said that “our retail shops are vital in raising funds for the Crypt, to enable them to provide the services they do to clients. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back in and continue to support St George’s Crypt.”
Chris Fields, CEO of St George’s Crypt, said, “Our retail shops don't just sell high-quality goods to help local communities but also offer chances for individuals transitioning from homelessness to independence. Clients on our development and recovery projects are offered volunteering opportunities that enable them to acquire job skills and can act as stepping stones towards independence.
Our shops combine several functions, all contributing to and underpinning the organisation’s mission of rehabilitation and well-being for our clients. Foremostly the aim of changing lives in the city.”
