St. George’s Crypt proudly marks its 95th year of dedicated service to the homeless and vulnerable individuals in Leeds. Founded in 1930 by Rev. Don Robins, the Crypt has consistently provided shelter, food, clothing, and essential wellness services to those in greatest need.
To commemorate this significant milestone, the charity will host its flagship event, the “95th Anniversary Ball”, on Friday, 10 October 2025, at the prestigious Queens Hotel in Leeds City Centre. Tickets are priced at £95 each and include a sparkling drinks reception, a delightful three-course meal, live performances from the sensational 'Func on the Rocks' and NVRLND, plus a vibrant DJ set to keep the celebrations going late into the night. The evening will be hosted by Will Burns, Britain’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer winner!
A Night to Honour 95 Years of Impact
The 95th Anniversary Ball will bring together supporters, volunteers, partners, and beneficiaries for an unforgettable evening of celebration and a renewed commitment to the Crypt’s mission. Funds raised will directly support vital services, including emergency accommodation, recovery programs, day centre meals, health and wellbeing initiatives, and skills retraining—all of which continue to transform lives in Leeds.
Chris Fields, Chief Executive Officer, reflected on this significant milestone:
“Celebrating 95 years of kindness and compassion with others is a joy, and to hold the final event as a gala ball at the iconic Queens Hotel celebrates the difference St. George’s Crypt has made to thousands of lives over those 95 years.”
Revd Andy Muckle, Crypt Chaplain, emphasised the importance of faith and empathy in providing support:
“As we reflect and celebrate these last 95 years, we remember with grateful hearts the care and compassion of our founder, The Rev’d Don Robins. It was his Christian faith, rooted in loving service to those in need, that inspired him to bring into being the Crypt. It is the same Christian faith that inspires our care and compassion today and gives us hope for all that tomorrow brings.”
