The conference fees are  £225 and SPARK will pay directly for your ticket. Rail travel to the nearest station will also be reimbursed by submitting an expense claim.

What is the NJPN National Conference

It is a gathering of, usually, about 300 Christians from across the UK who all have a passion to work for social justice in the light of their faith. It takes place over the weekend of Friday 21 July to Sunday 23 July 2023 at a conference centre in Derbyshire in the village of Swanwick. The conference begins with the evening meal on the Friday at 6:30pm and finishes after lunch on the Sunday. Accommodation is all in en-suite rooms.

This year’s conference is entitled ‘ Sustainability? Survival or Shutdown

What is sustainability?

What needs to be considered for sustainability –

  • structural injustice,
  • sustainable food,
  • low carbon travel,
  • home energy efficiency
  • What else????

Can we retain our present lifestyles in a sustainable way?

Through a combination of keynote speakers and a range of workshops these questions and more will be explored during the weekend. It is always a lively event with a good craic around the bar in the evening. Also running during the weekend will be a ‘Just Fair’ with stalls from many organisations working around sustainability and other social justice issues.

Who can apply?

Anyone aged 18-30 living in the area of the Leeds Diocese. After the conference you must be willing to write an article for our newsletter or make a short video about your experiences at Conference.

The closing date to apply is 30 April 2023.
