We wanted to share about 'Songs from around the World' with you because, as far as we're aware, it's quite unique in the UK. It combined three aspects.

Firstly, the Resonance band played worship songs in different languages. This was very moving for many internationals including Kenny. She said: "I've had the privilege of listening to worship songs in different languages before, as there are over 200 languages in my native Nigeria. But nothing prepared me for 'Songs from around the World.'

The most memorable part was when everyone rose up to dance and move around the hall in excitement and worship to God in a language that was completely foreign to some people.  In that moment I could feel the love of God and how he has called everyone of us from all tribes, language, cultures and races to be one with him and with one another."

Secondly, our international student/graduate band performed worship songs they'd learnt in different languages.  This opportunity to perform alongside Resonance band increased the confidence of our band members from Kenya, Hong Kong, India, Nigeria and South Korea.  It will enable them to lead more inclusive worship in their churches in the future.

Being involved in the band meant a lot to Kenny who said, "it was the first time I was in a multicultural worship band and to sing in my own language in the UK.  It was so freeing to worship God in Yoruba, it made me feel good to speak out my language to the world."

Vishesh, one of several seekers who enjoyed the event

Thirdly, it was evangelistic.  The diversity was a powerful witness and different speakers shared their testimonies. Joshua from Uganda spoke powerfully about how God has been good to him despite many challenges, Jess from Portugal shared how God had miraculously healed her broken leg and Soh from South Korea shared her journey to faith.

Vishesh, a seeker from India, who has regularly attended our Explore International evangelistic course, commented, "it was a great experience to be a part of due to how diverse it was. Since I come from quite a diverse country, it really reminded me of home. I am honestly glad I attended it!!"
