Restoring Hope is a Leeds-based women’s mental health peer support community group dedicated to providing support for women’s mental health. We break down barriers of isolation by providing a safe and supportive space for women to connect, share their experiences, and access the emotional support they need to thrive.
Our mission is to equip, empower and encourage women to be all that they can be by being real about what we face, to create space for women to feel heard, seen and understood. We are hoping to do this by planting small pockets of women’s groups of 12 across the South Leeds community and then branch out further into other communities of Leeds.
My story is one of both hope and restoration, this gave me the initiative to create this group as I felt isolated and let down by the system with little mental health support. The sole purpose of restoring hope is creating a pathway for women to access peer support through growing relationships within the group knowing that they are not alone in their own personal journey with mental health.
Currently we have a Monday group at St Georges Centre in Middleton from 11am -12:30 and we are expanding this into Bitmo Gate Belle Isle on Wednesday evenings from 18:00-19:30pm term time only.
