Revd Dr Shaun Lambert who is the Honorary Mindfulness Chaplain at Scargill Movement, a Christian community and retreat centre in North Yorkshire has just had his new book published.

The book is entitled Mindful Formation: A Pathway to Spiritual Formation and includes reflections on his life in community.

Based on his PhD he deals with the number one ethical task of our society- how to reclaim our attentional capacities from the media technologies and virtual world which dominate our cultural landscape.

We are shaped and formed by what we pay attention to, generally the patterns of this world. Shaun shows how to reclaim our attention and intentionally be mindful of God. In this way our spiritual formation into Christlikeness is through mindfulness- hence mindful formation.

In the book we see that mindfulness is our God-given capacity for attention and awareness.

He has organised a one-day online conference on Saturday 15 June as an introduction to mindful formation.

He is also running a retreat at Scargill Movement on the theme 24th-28th June.
