Lighthouse Announces Bishop Arun Arora as Patron

Lighthouse West Yorkshire, a local Christian charity & ministry to those on the margins, is delighted to announce Bishop Arun Arora (Bishop of Kirkstall) as their Patron. Bishop Arun has already been a valued friend and a source of great encouragement to the work and ministry of Lighthouse since taking up his post in 2022, and the charity looks forward to seeing how his involvement will develop in this new role.

Bishop Arun said recently,

"I am delighted to become Patron of Lighthouse (West Yorkshire) and to support the charity’s vital gospel work in bringing the love of Jesus to those battered and bruised by the storms of life in the City of Leeds."

The Chair of Trustees (pictured with Bishop Arun above), Rev’d Canon Jonathan Cain, expressed his appreciation, stating,

"Since his arrival in Leeds as Bishop of Kirkstall, Bishop Arun has been a wonderful advocate for the work of Lighthouse. We are thrilled to have him as our Patron."

Rev’d Jon Swales MBE, Lighthouse’s Mission Priest, highlighted the significance of this appointment,

"Lighthouse seeks to serve those on the margins of society—those facing the storms of addiction, mental health crises, and the weight of poverty. Bishop Arun’s support as Patron reminds us that Lighthouse is part of the wider Church, supported and upheld in prayer by our local Bishop. We are grateful for his encouragement and look forward to welcoming him as a speaker at our fundraiser later this year."
