Leeds Dads Gets Involved in Paternity Leave Campaign

The campaign, run nationally by The Dad Shift, has been taken up by local group Leeds Dads, a support group which operates across the city of Leeds for dads of pre-school kids. Founder Errol Murray said the group has been running for 15 years, and supports about 100 dads a month with play groups, activities, and in other areas.

Now, the group is getting involved with the campaign for better paternity pay, as fathers currently get two weeks pay at less than half the minimum wage, the lowest in Europe. An review of parental pay was launched by the government in July this year, but campaigners plan to keep up the pressure until changes are made.
