Hawa Dal would like to express their deep appreciation for receiving the Queen's Award, especially during the Platinum Jubilee year.  The work of Hawa Dal is to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). This award will highlight even more the importance of the work being done by Hawa Dal, and the need to educate society that FGM is wrong and should be eradicated. Hawa Dal continues to work to stop FGM and educate to make sure this does not take place. At the same time provides support groups in a safe space to discuss FGM. Also, the charity works with women fleeing their home countries because of this practice. You can read more about Hawa's story here.

Hawa Dal Peace of Mind was announced as a winner on 2 June 2022. Hawa Bah will receive a domed glass crystal and a certificate signed by HM the Queen. The award - which is the equivalent of an MBE - will be presented in Leeds in December. Hawa would like to thank all involved in awarding the charity with this honour.
