We have wonderful news to share – Kidz Klub Leeds has been awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest honour a UK voluntary group can receive!
This national award, often called the MBE for voluntary groups, celebrates the incredible dedication of our volunteers who support over 1,000 children across Leeds every week through:
✅ Weekly Kidz Klubs across the city
✅ Home visits & mentoring
✅ Trips, play streets & schools work
✅ Family support & advocacy
✅ Developing young leaders
The King’s Award shines a spotlight on our tried and tested model of relational, long-term support – building trust with families and walking alongside children from early years through to adolescence.
For 25 years, Kidz Klub Leeds has been walking alongside children and families in 18 inner-city communities, building trust and transforming lives through long-term, relational support. Together, we’ve:
- Worked with 28,000 children across two generations
- Carried out 707,000 home visits
- Delivered countless moments of joy, resilience, and hope
This award is a powerful recognition of what community-led change can achieve. It’s a tribute to our volunteers, staff, and supporters who believe in the potential of every child.
What’s Next?
Team members will receive the award from HM Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, and two volunteers will attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace!
