My friends, wishing you and your loved ones a joyous Christmas season. I pray that as you remember and celebrate the reason for this season – Jesus, you will take the time to reflect on the goodness of God for sending His son Jesus into this world to save us from the life of sin.

This season of joy to the earth is spoken of in Isaiah 9:6-7 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this”.

As I reflect on this scripture, I think of all the great men, women and prophets who have ever lived through history – none has ever been called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end”.  Only our Lord Jesus Christ and rightly so because His birth:

• Saved us from our sins – Through His death on the cross, not because we have earned it, but because of His mercy for us. 
• Bought us hope of eternal life – As we choose to confess our sins with out mouth and declare that Jesus is Lord.
• Gave us His Holy Spirit that dwells in us – Working in us daily to put aside ungodly activities but instead walk in love, peace, joy, kindness, compassion toward all.

Christ follower, as you enjoy the blessings of this season, let it also be a moment of reflection on what Christ has done for you. Remember to share and show the love of Jesus to those who are less privileged than you through your act of kindness. If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and experience the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace today.
