Weekly Devotional - Jesus - Our Help in Time of Need

My friends, whatever need you may have in your life, be assured and comforted that Jesus is more than enough for you and He is your help in time of need.  The word of God in Philippians 4:19 is a proof of this truth “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus”.

To get our needs met this year, we have to:

  • Acknowledge we have a need – This might come to you as a surprise that some of us walk through life in pride that we don’t have a need.  The ability to articulate our need is a sign toward humility.
  • Have confidence that God can meet that need – Because His word reminds us that the earth belongs to Him and everything in it, the world and all who live in it – (Psalm 24:1) pretty much sums it up for us.
  • Pray about our need– We seek God’s face in prayer to give us His perfect will for our lives. He will give you better than you can ever imagine for yourself.
  • Thank God in expectation of the need - Helps us receive immediate response from God through prayer. The story of King Solomon comes to mind – he was so generous in his thanksgiving to God, and God responded to Solomon by giving him even the things he did not ask for. Imagine receiving a blank cheque to write the amount you want on it – how cool that is! (2 Chronicles 1:7-12).

Christ follower, let God meet you at your point of need this year.  If you are currently not a Christ follower, the greatest need you have is Salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord today and you will be saved.

All glory to God!
