The Real Junk Food Project TRJFP intercepts surplus food that is fit to eat but would have gone to landfill. Each box contains a mix of groceries packed by volunteers at a warehouse in Stourton. There are several communities across Leeds utilising this initiative.

The real news is
You can now collect a box from Connecting Crossgates on Tuesdays 1-3pm at Crossgates Methodist Church

Not only are people able to prevent waste, but the boxes at £4.25 and £10 are also really good value. What makes this even better, is that TRJFP donates a percentage of the cost back to the charity ( in this case Connecting Crossgates), meaning they can provide boxes to those in need. For example, Connecting Crossgates have provided boxes for SVP clients, asylum seekers, and those awaiting benefits having lost their jobs.

Why not give it a try?
