Weekly Devotional - Guide me Great Jehovah

My friends, I don’t know about you, but I have often reflected on how I would have saved myself from a lot of pain and heartache if I had allowed the Lord to guide me and if I had listened when He did.

God’s desire for our lives is not punishment but a personal relationship with us so He can guide and steer us away from the traps Satan sets to cause us great pain.  Isaiah 48:17 sums it up for us “This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go”."

God guides us through His word and the Holy Spirit illuminates the word in our heart through that gentle still voice.  There are tremendous benefits for us when we allow God to guide us and some of them are:

  • Peace like a river – The Peace of God is something money cannot buy and if God is offering it through His guidance, it would be wise for us to take it!
  • Well-being like the waves of the sea – The comforting feeling that comes with knowing that if we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, we cannot go wrong and nothing but good can come out of the situation because God is our guide.

Christ-follower, invite God to guide the cause of your life this year and you will not be disappointed. If you are currently not a Christ-follower, only the Great Jehovah can lead and guide you to the path of righteousness – come.

All glory to God!
