Leeds City Mission is organising another of its popular Praise Events for churches around the city.
The gathering will be on the lawn adjacent to the City Mission Compassion Centre in Mistress Lane, Armley on Saturday 20 September.
Leeds has a population of 812,000 of which 170,520 people are residents from different ethnic backgrounds. This presents many opportunities for gospel outreach right on our doorsteps. The City Mission have invited Helen Tremenheere as their guest speaker. She specialises in helping believing peopole in cross cultural engagement and mission. Her missionary parents worked in a 'closed' asian country and this has provided the foundation for the role she fulfils today. She is part of the mission team at Bridge Community Church. She will be sharing her passion for getting the gospel out to the nations.
The City Mission Centre is the last public building at the end of the Armley shopping area. A light free lunch will be served around tables between 12.30 - 1.30 pm on the adjacent lawn. Between 1.30 - 2.30 pm there will be a time of prasie, a short update about on-going City Mission work and then Helen will deliverher enthusiastic and inspiring message.
At the conclusion of formal proceedings there will be delicious free ice creams and further liquid refreshments. City Mission Coordinator Andy Dalton said that many believing people who came to these events really appreciate the opportunity to hear an inspiring message and also meet a wide range of people from different churches in Leeds. People attending will hear frm an expereinced practitioner of how to reach out to people from different cultural and religious backgrounds. He said the location was an ideal setting with tables to sit around under the shade of leafy trees in the late summer sunshine. There is plenty of on-street parking and various bus routes passing nearby including 14, 15, 16, 72, 81, 86, 87, X6 & X11. It is highly accessible from all parts of the city.
There are alternative arrangements in case of inclement weather on the day.
Andy Dalton concluded "All people need to do is turn up on the day. Our Centre is easy to find being diagonally opposite Armley Library and also the last public building in the main shopping area. Everyone is most welcome".
