Connecting Crossgates is celebrating receiving £6000 additional funding from Leeds Community Foundation.

Aimed at children on free school meals and those with additional needs or vulnerabilities, around 50 children every day attended activities for 4 weeks in July and August.  The grant is a recognition that an extra 235 places were provided by the team.

After a series of games, crafts and activities everyone joins together for a meal, an interactive session including drama and party games .

Those aged 11-16 can be “youth helpers”, supporting the younger children with crafts and activities. A fortnightly youth group is now also beginning to emerge as a result .

Holiday club runs in partnership with Seacroft Parish and St James Manston and is run by a seasonal team of 10 staff supported by 20 volunteers. The team is starting to prepare for the next week of activities which will run 21-24th Dec .
