Posted on: 24th June 2020

This is a real bumper issue with a number of thoughtful and topical articles, the first being Becky Howcroft’s witness to some of the good things emerging from the Covid-19 pandemic.  Becky is a Community Organiser at Leeds Citizens.  Leeds Church Institute work in partnership with Leeds Citizens to build leadership in faith communities and support thinking around economic, spiritual, religious and social life in our city.

In the age of BLACKLIVESMATTER, Leeds Church Institute colleague and theology student, Leo Joslin, considers the place of religious protest in the article headed "Faith and Activism". If you haven't read the open letter from Church Leaders across Leeds "Silence is no longer an option" following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, then we recommend you do.

We are delighted to include Rachel Flint's poem The Definition of Strength.  You can also hear Rachel reading her poem Treasure as a podcast taken from And The Stones Fell Open: A Leeds Poetry Anthology, published by Yaffle Press with a retail price of £10.
