Leeds Christians at Pride invite you to join us at Leeds Minster to celebrate our LGBTQ+ community as part of the Leeds Pride weekend.
All are welcome to this Leeds Pride Celebration service organised by Leeds Christians at Pride, which will include time for reflection, poetry, song, prayer - and a lot of fun too!
Whether you're a member of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, a Christian, a person of faith, an atheist, or you're not quite sure any more... you are welcome here to celebrate and show solidarity this Pride weekend.
4.00pm Drinks Reception in the Minster
4:30pm Service begins
The service will last up to 1 hour, followed by more drinks and celebrations in the Minster.
We will be joined by special guests…
- Matt Jameson in conversation
Most recognisable from his time on ‘Married at First Sight UK’, Matt was one half of the first same sex couple to be married on the hit E4 show. Since appearing on MAFS UK, Matt has continued to work in broadcasting, as well as being an event host and brand ambassador. Matt is established as a prominent LGBTQ+ campaigner and commentator. As Chief Operating Officer for the LGBTQ+ charity; Out Together, which supports older LGBTQ+ people facing social isolation and loneliness.
- Music from Kuill
Artist & Songwriter Kuill was born and raised in Leeds. Kuill has been a working musician for 15 years, performing across the country in every major theatre and London's West End. Winner of BBCs Let It Shine, Gary Barlow described his vocal talents as a 'masterclass'. Nicole Scherzinger said she wanted to marry his voice before declaring his voice as 'her husband'. Currently penning his second album entitled 'Fragile Creatures'. The next few years offers some exciting surprises from Kuill.
- Leeds Christians at Pride Scratch Choir
Exclusively formed for our Leeds Pride Celebration Service, LGBTQ+ Christians and allies will join together in joyful song with members of the Leeds Church Institute and Leeds Sanctuary communities, plus many more. The choir will sing well-loved songs, plus there will be an opportunity for all to join in hymns accompanied by the Leeds Minster church organ.
