ENJOY A FREE LUNCH, FELLOWSHIP & SAYING FAREWELL AT THE CITY MISSION
Leeds City Mission is organising another of its popular Praise Events which includes a Lunch & Open Afternoon on Saturday 21 September.
This will be held at its Hub premises in Mistress Lane, Armley, Leeds, LS12 2LJ.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy a free lunch anytime between 12.30 pm - 1.30 pm and then to stay on for a time of praise, sharing and listening to an inspiring message from retired pastor David Morris from Baildon.
Part of proceedings will inclue a tribute and farewell to Dagmar Truman the current Hub Manager who is leaving the City Mission for pastures new after fourteen years. She has been a key worker at the City Mission especially over the last few years with the establishment of the new LCM Hub and the Christian Book & Card Booth.
Paying tribute LCM Chairman Paul Crossley said "We are all deeply grateful to Dagmar for her absolutely sterling work at the City Mission over the last one and a half decades. She has been a tower of strength. In the last few years LCM has been impacted by changing circumstances - the Covid pandemic, using three different retail outlets, the acquistion and renovation of the new Hub premises and the development of new projects. During these changing times she has been an absolute rock ensuring the work of LCM has been able to progress.
The rest of the afternoon will see free delicious ice creams served to all who want them along with further teas, coffees and juice drinks around cafe style tables on the adjoining grassed area to the Hub in the pleasant September sunshine. There will be opportunities to talk to LCM staff and peruse a number of displays.
Leeds City Mission is diagonally opposite Armley Library and is the last public building in the shopping area. Westerley Rise (12 storey block of flats) is adjacent to the City Mission Hub.
