Larger Churches Day

Wednesday, 12th July: 10:00am - 3:00pm
Bishop Arun and Archdeacon Paul would like to invite you to a day for larger churches on Wednesday 12th July 2023, 10.00am to 3.00pm, with keynote speaker Ven. Bob Jackson facilitated by Canon Robin Gamble and LYCiG, at Pudsey Parish Church.
Recent research by Bob Jackson, Bev Botting and Ken Eames, shows that many larger churches (those which had an attendance of around 100 or more before covid) have recovered less well than many smaller churches. Adding them together, in our Diocese we have many hundreds fewer worshippers attending now than in 2019.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. Some churches have recovered well, and we can learn from each other. Bob and Robin will lead us through the evidence and facilitate our discussions. The plan is:
1. Where are we now? - Looking at larger churches, looking at the data, looking at ourselves.
2. Where does the path begin? - Hearing stories from the diocese, hearing our story, hearing God’s story
3. Where do we want to be? - Setting a plan, three simple steps, setting out on the journey.
We are not making a charge for attendance, however, if you feel you could make a donation to cover the costs, that would be hugely appreciated! See the QR code image or follow this link
