Weekly Devotional - When Jesus increases – we decrease
View all news
My friends, as Christ followers, we are well intentioned and often in our spiritual evaluation through the lenses of the scripture in John 3:30 “He must become greater; I must become less”, we believe that Jesus is increasing in our lives.
For Christ to increase in our lives and for us to decrease requires a sign of spiritual maturity born out of a desire to keep growing. A daily consideration (in the place of prayer) to the following evaluation questions will lead us to the spiritual answer we need:
- Are we longing for the living God? – A thirst to study, identify and apply the word of God to make a life style change.
- What is the purpose of our salvation? – We have been saved by grace – and this comes with a responsibility to share the gospel with others (through our testimony) of God’s love.
- Do we maintain an eternal perspective? – How we view the things of this world, will affect our attitude toward the things of Heaven. We must always ask ourselves what good is it if we gain the whole world and lose our soul (Mark 8:36).
Christ follower, candidly evaluate who is increasing in your life daily – is it you or Jesus and take corrective actions where necessary. If you are currently not a Christ follower, forfeiting your soul for temporary gain is not worth it – come today and experience the increase only Christ can provide.
All glory to God!
