Oakwood Book Club

Tuesday 13th June, 7.30pm – 9pm
At Oakwood Church, Springwood Road, Leeds, LS28 2QA

Kathryn Fitzsimons leads the session on Saving Jesus From The Church, by Robin R. Meyers.

“The marriage of bad theology and hypocritical behavior by the church has eroded our spiritual lives. Taking the best of biblical scholarship, Meyers recasts core Christian concepts in an effort to save Christianity from its obsession with personal salvation.”

There will be no Oakwood Book Club in July and August, but it will return on 19th September.

Cake, Coffee and Conversation

Third Thursday of each month, 11am
Leeds Church Institute, 20 New Market Street, Leeds, LS1 6DG

Cake, coffee and conversation is an opportunity for LCI members, or those interested in the work of LCI, to come and meet the team. Over a slice of cake and a cup of coffee (or tea!) there will be the chance to reflect, talk, relax and explore LCI’s library. If you’re planning a shopping trip to Leeds, why not pop in on your way – Cake, coffee and community will be the perfect oasis!

Our next Cake, coffee and Conversation will be on 15th June

Leeds Country Way Pilgrimage

Wednesday 28th June
Meet at LCI at 9.30 to catch the bus.

Each month we take a wedge of the Leeds Country way, walk reflect and pray for Leeds. This month we will be traveling from Thornbury to Appley Bridge. Sadly there is no pub for lunch en route, so the journey will be a little shorter and we will finish at the George and Dragon pub and then walk to the train station. Meet us at the LCI building ready to catch the bus.

The final walk will be on 26th July.
