Weekly Devotional - The Battle is not Yours to Fight
View all news
Friends, what battle are you contending with – is it marital, health, career, finances, business, spiritual, emotional, relational, anger, bitterness, and the list goes on.
When I am faced with the battle of life, the word of God in 2 Chronicles 20:17 provides me great comfort and you too should consider drawing comfort from this scripture that says “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you”.
The back drop of this great promise was when the Children of Israel had no power to face the vast army attacking them and did not know what to do. The Lord showed up on their behalf and reminded them that the battle is His.
Battles of life are unavoidable – however, we can be victorious by:
- Trusting God for help – We have to acknowledge that we cannot help ourselves but God can because His strength is made perfect in our weakness. The place of surrender and brokenness is often where God glorifies himself in our lives.
- Prayer – Drawing nearer to God through prayer so He can provide us with the word of comfort “Do not be afraid”. Remember, our battles do not catch God by surprise – however, He loves to have a close relationship with us during these times.
Christ follower, let God fight your battle this year. If you are currently not a Christ follower, God is able to defend you – come and experience Him in a special way.
All glory to God!
