Weekly Devotional - Reflection Ignites Thanksgiving

My friends, for those who live in the US – Happy Thanksgiving!
Reflection provides the opportunity to see what God has done for us and our families. The two umbrella reasons below sum up our existence and as we reflect on them, we will see why giving thanks to God is a MUST not a choice.
Thanksgiving for our Salvation: This is priceless and worthy of daily thanksgiving to God who sent His son to die for our sins so we don’t perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Without the hope of eternity through the death and resurrection of Jesus, our hope and faith are in vain.
Thanksgiving for our life: Without life we can accomplish nothing – not the career, promotion, marriage, business, financial success, corporate ladder or whatever success means for us. God is the giver of life and He is able to give and take it as He pleases (Luke 12:20).
Friends, now that we have reflected on the two umbrella reasons for giving thanks, let’s explore How we give thanks to God as follows:
- In Prayer – Our communication with God in the place of prayer should not just be about what we need but thanking Him for what He has done, what He is currently doing and what He will do.
- In Worship and Praise – This is like romancing God and exalting Him through songs and instruments. If you can’t sing or play any instruments, use any talents God has giving you.
- In our Testimony – Testify of the Lord’s goodness upon you and your household and not for boasting but to glorify God so that people around you can also come, taste and see that the Lord is good.
Christ follower, reflect upon the goodness of God in your life and let it ignite thanksgiving in your heart this season. If you are currently not a Christ follower, life without Christ is meaningless – come and experience the love of Jesus today.
All glory to God!
