Weekly Devotional - Re-evaluate Your Crowd (Deuteronomy 32:4)
View all news
One of the diversions that takes us away from serving God and fulfilling our purpose in life is the Crowd. Saul caved into public opinion and failed in the plan and purpose of God for his life. (1 Samuel 13:7-15).
My friends, what crowd are you looking to for affirmation – parents, bosses, spouses, voices of the past, our culture?
I don’t know about you, each time I asked myself why I give in to pressure to behave like everyone else, the truth always centered around not wanting to be rejected.
When the crowd is going the wrong way, as Christ followers, we must intentionally deal with the longing for acceptance and be willing to risk rejection for the sake of the one whose opinion is the only one that counts – Jesus.
Beware! Crowds are fickle and unstable. They blow hot and cold at the same time. However, the word of God assures us in (Deuteronomy 32:4) of the one who is the ROCK, unmovable, unchanging and perfect. As for me, I would rather key into the one that is the same yesterday, today and forever more (Hebrews 13:8).
If you are a Christ follower, prayerfully re-evaluate your crowd this week and ask the Holy Spirit to give you the spirit of discernment to make the right choices. If you are currently not a Christ follower, today is the day of salvation.
All glory to God!
