Weekly Devotional: O Lord, Turn not Thy Face Away
View all news
My friends, have you ever gone through seasons of life when you felt God has turned His face away from you? I have and I can honestly say, those times were the darkest in my life.
You see, the Bible told us that the Psalmist, King David was a man after God’s own heart and yet, just like us, he went through a season when he felt God was no where to be found and hence in Psalm 27:9 he cried out to the Lord saying “Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior”.
We too should take a note from the life of King David in our darkest days and cry out to the Lord for His mercy because:
- God is our present help in times of trouble – We have to come to that place that no one can help us but Him and Him alone. Think about it, men and women are limited in their abilities but God who created us is unlimited.
- God will never reject us – Our friends, families, personal and business relationships may reject us, but God will NEVER. It is not in His character – He is heads over hills in love with us and as a result, He wants a personal relationship with us.
Sometimes, God brings us to a place of helplessness in our own abilities NOT hopelessness, so we can draw hope from Him.
Christ follower, as you cry out to the Lord, He will turn His face toward you today In Jesus Name. Amen. If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and experience the God that has the power to deliver you today.
All glory to God!
