Weekly Devotional - Looking Back and Moving Forward with Praise

Friends, I have found that the grace to praise God comes from a place of reflection on what God has done, what He’s currently doing and what He will do in the future.  With this perspective, we cannot help but see the need to praise Him.

The heart of the God we serve is evident in Psalm 145:9 The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made”.  Praising Him (in our good times and bad times) should be our way of responding to His love for us.

Praise in action regardless of our situation, circumstances and events acknowledge that:

  • God is trustworthy – If we can trust Him to help us navigate our good and bad times – this will steer praise in our hearts.
  • He is faithful – Even when we are not faithful and because He is faithful, we are not consumed in our unfaithfulness.  I don’t know about you, this alone brings me to a place of praise daily.
  • He supports us – When we are defeated, fall or are down - many times I have experienced God’s help in this type of situation and all I can do is praise Him.
  • He is the maker of Heaven and Earth – Imagine that and let this knowledge bring you to a place of praise for Him.

Christ follower, daily look back and move forward with praise this year.  If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and experience the God that is worthy to be praised today.

All glory to God!
