Weekly Devotional - Is Your Life Yielding Increase? (1 Corinthians)
View all news
My friends, increase can be measured in so many ways –financial, career, relationships and so on. However, the increase that far outweighs the material and is worth paying attention to is spiritual increase.
The word of God reminds us in 1 Corinthians 13:11 thus “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me”.
This scripture is a reminder that as we mature in our Christian faith, we must daily evaluate our:
- Thoughts – to make sure they align with the will of God and if it is not, take corrective actions.
- Words – our words come from the thoughts we conceive – so, we need to make sure that we speak life not death in any situation, event or circumstance.
- Actions – evidence of our thoughts and words, as people are watching our actions to determine whether they will serve God or not. We cannot afford to be a stumbling block to others.
Christ follower, daily examine your life for spiritual increase and where there is a gap, ask God to help you make the necessary change. If you are currently not a Christ follower, the God of increase awaits you – come.
All glory to God!

I found the project/churches page on the Network Leeds site really useful as I was looking for projects with a social action focus
