Weekly Devotional - Don’t Be Afraid, Just Believe
View all news
My friends, I have often heard “Fear” described as “false evidence appearing real”. This is so true when we are confronted with physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, health, financial, career, business, death situations and so on.
Indeed, the situations are real to us and I know this because I too have had my fair share. However, in the midst of the fearful situations, events and circumstances, there is also hope and comfort provided by Jesus in His words in Mark 5:36 “Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
Living a fearless life in the midst of our storms requires us to:
- Confront our fear with the word of God – Everything we need to confront our fears is available to us in the Bible. We need to locate, meditate and apply it to our situation.
- Listen to the voice of the good Shephard – Jesus is our good Shephard and in the midst of our fears, we must be intentional about tuning out all other negative voices and if we do, God has promised that He will not let us perish in that situation.
- Just believe – This means having a child like faith, not knowing how we will get through our fear but believing that God said it and it is settled – yes, that simple!
Christ follower, whatever your fearful situation may be - Don’t Be Afraid – Just Believe. If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and taste the goodness of God.
All glory to God!
