Volunteer Link Worker
- West Yorkshire Community Chaplaincy ProjectView all jobs
WYCCP is a resettlement organisation which aims to reduce re-offending and contribute to building safer and stronger communities in Leeds and across West Yorkshire. A ‘through the gate’ project; we work with offenders inside the prison and post release. Staff and volunteers provide practical support and encouragement to men to help them cope with life in the community and break the cycle of re-offending.
The aim of our volunteer link workers is to work alongside our resettlement workers to establish and maintain contact with identified service user(s) prior to their release from prison and following their release. This will continue with regular contact with the service user during their reintegration into the community, and may include providing support around housing, benefits, probation, training and employment and health. This will facilitate achievement of an agreed ‘action plan’ devised in partnership with the service user, resettlement workers, volunteer co-ordinator and any other relevant parties.
For full details about this and the training provided to our link workers is given on our website at www.wyccp.org.uk.
