Foodbank Volunteer Support Manager
- Leeds North and West FoodbankView all jobs
Leeds North and West Foodbank is a local Christian charity that is partnered with the Trussell Trust, working to tackle food poverty and hunger in our local community. Our Foodbank was set up in 2015 following the reorganisation of Leeds foodbank. We opened as a Charity (Leeds North and West Foodbank) with 1 warehouse and 6 distribution centres. We have now increased the number of distribution centres to 8 over the past 4 years, providing free short term emergency food to people in crisis.
We now have an exciting part-time vacancy for a Volunteer Support Manager to join our team and become a key part of the Operational Management Team. A crucial part of the role will be to liaise with the different teams at our foodbank to understand how they work, develop partnerships and assess their volunteering needs, as well as generating appropriate volunteering opportunities. This will help to develop strategies to find, recruit and match volunteers. Possessing excellent inter-personal skills is essential in this role to build, establish and maintain relationships with other Managers, ensuring effective communication across the wider foodbank team. You will develop and promote volunteering through community events, volunteer fairs and utilise local and regional networks to highlight our foodbank’s volunteering opportunities. You will ensure that our volunteers receive the appropriate induction, training and supervision.
We are looking for a Manager who has experience of volunteering themselves or working within an organisation that deploys volunteers, along with enthusiasm for the work of the foodbank. The contract is initially for 2 years, continuance will depend on securing further funding.
The closing date for applications is 9.00 am on Friday 21 June 2019. Interviews will be held on Thursday 4 July 2019. Start date is as soon as possible.
