Community Work Researcher
- St Matthias Church, BurleyView all jobs
St Matts is a newly-formed resource church in Leeds seeking to bless and renew Burley
(our parish), Leeds and beyond.
Our church’s community response to Covid 19 has helped us to start to imagine a vision
for outreach into Burley and beyond. We already have a number of community facing
events happening weekly, occasionally or annually but many of these involve gathering
in a way that we are not currently able to do. Having responded to the emergency of
Covid 19, as a church we are asking big questions about what our life in the community
will look like in the future.
We are looking for someone to undertake a short-term feasibility study to identify the
potential for growing the work of St Matts in the parish of Burley and its vicinity and
prayerfully to consider:-
1. The needs of this community;
2. The vision and resources God has given us as a church;
3. How might St Matts share the love of Jesus with our community in service,
prayer and disciple-making?
4. What might a longer term ‘Community Worker’ paid role look like and how
might it be funded?
Nick Lattimer, Associate Vicar at St Matts Leeds is happy to have informal conversations about the job.
