Hours: Part time, 20.00hrs

Contract: Permanent

Starting salary: £13,078

We are looking for a skilled church administrator to coordinate effective running of the Parish Church as part of the church’s leadership. There is a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.

Principal duties:

• To assist the clergy and PCC in the management of the work of the Parish Church.

• To give general support to the clergy and other paid or volunteer leaders and volunteers in all aspects of the church’s ministry and mission.

• To manage the Parish Office and its systems. • To undertake such administrative duties as may be delegated or required by the Vicar or Churchwardens.

Specific responsibilities:

• To strengthen links between our church and the local community.

• To promote activities in the church.

• To handle correspondence, emails and phone calls and messages effectively.

• To organise the church diary including arrangements for weddings, funerals, baptisms and hire of premises by church groups/members or the public.

• To attend staff meetings and keep notes and (if so appointed by the PCC) to act as Secretary to the PCC. • To maintain up to date records of church members and pastoral contacts, in accordance with GDPR.

• To maintain purchasing of all essential supplies for the effective running of the church building and services.

• To follow church policies and procedures, particularly health and safety within the building.

• To undertake training as required.

• To assist in planning church activities as required.

• To liaise with contractors working on the fabric and equipment of the church including their access to work.

• To maintain rotas, communications, orders of service, and all such printing and photocopying as the role requires.

• To receive callers with appropriate pastoral support and provide effective signposting to clergy and others as needed.

• Such other tasks as the clergy or PCC may from time to time require, by agreement
