1. Prayer
Praying to the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit, for the advance of the Kingdom of God in and through children, families and children’s workers in Gateway church.
2. Oversee leadership and planning of curriculum for Sunday children’s work
• Provision of ‘Mini Explorers’ (0-5s) curriculum, meeting with ‘Mini Explorers’ team leaders, facilitation of resources for Sunday meetings.
• Provision of ‘Explorers’ (5-11) curriculum, meeting with ‘Explorers’ team leaders, facilitation of resources for Sunday meetings.
3. Lead and support Sunday children’s teams
• Lead one of the monthly teams (ideally for 5-11s)
• Oversee Children’s work rotas.
• Ensure team leaders can access resources for their sessions.
• Oversee safe check-in and check-out of children’s work.
• Oversee health and safety of children’s work.
• Encourage and envision children's team leaders and team members.
• Oversee the recruitment of new team members, including DBS checks.
• Support the implementation of Gateway’s children protection policy.
Person Specification
About You
This post carries an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian, in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, as the role involves active participation in the worship, teaching, and mission of Gateway Church Leeds.

Your Skills and Experience
● Good organisational skills. Able to plan your working week with multiple responsibilities and demands on your time.
● Experience of leading people, e.g. a team or project. Able to delegate tasks and communicate a shared vision.
● Good communication skills. Able to use different forms of communication to communicate with a wide variety of people (church members, parents, guardians, children).
● Ideally, experience of working with children in another setting, either voluntary or paid.
Terms and Conditions
We would be open to discussing any aspects of these terms and conditions with someone who is passionate, a good fit and has a heart for children’s work.
Working hours: 10 hours per week (or this could be negotiated to a term time only role). Around 3 hours per month would be on a Sunday morning, when leading a session.
Reporting to: Sam Evans (Elder)
Contract: Initial 6 months, with potential for extending this further. Remuneration: £27,422.77 per annum, £7310.91 pro rata. (PayScale point 15)
Probationary period: Confirmation of employment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a three month probationary period. Annual leave: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. Working Location: St Mark's Church, St Mark's Road, Leeds, LS2 9AF.
