This series of events over 4 days includes a makeshift Refugee Camp being set up at the bottom of Town Street in Horsforth from Tuesday 10th to Thursday 12th October. The camp will involve people sleeping out in tents living a life similar those refugees who are situated in camps all over Europe and the rest of the world. The camp involves an art exhibition and conversations will be held throughout the 3 days on different themes such as hearing stories from refugees journeying from Aleppo to Leeds.
These conversations will take place between 12:30 - 1:30 pm and each evening between 5:30pm and 8:30pm
On Friday 13th October the exhibition will be moved to St Margarets Church in Horsforth (Church Lane, Horsforth LS18 5LA) and an evening event will be held there which is called A Heart for Refugees from 6.30 - 9pm.
This will involve:
- Syrian Food
- A chance to browse stalls
- Testimonies for people who are refugees and have come to settle here in Leeds
- Discussions on how we can show hospitality to refugees in Leeds and offer support abroad.
