On 9 May, Mary’s Meals is organising a Day of Action for Ethiopia. On this day, we are asking supporters, volunteers, staff and celebrities to raise awareness of the escalating hunger crisis in Tigray by posting on their social media channels.

The current situation in Ethiopia is very serious, with 4.5 million people in the Tigray region in need of emergency food aid. Conflict, displacement and drought have left many people without enough to eat. The crisis is under reported because very few people have been able to access Tigray for some time. So, Mary’s Meals, which is currently serving a daily school meal to more than 45,000 children in the region (and rapidly expanding as more funds allow), is aiming to raise awareness of the crisis and to encourage people to take action.

It’s easy to get involved. Simply visit marysmeals.org.uk/share and download our social media assets. You can then post them on your channels on 9 May. We have also provided some suggested text for your post.

On 9 May let’s stand with the people of Ethiopia to amplify their voices and mobilise our own networks to help. Together we can stop this crisis before it's too late.
