GRACEFEST - Ripon Cathedral
GRACEFEST - Ripon Cathedral - 16-18th July - Full Weekend Camping or Day tickets £10
From the evening of Friday 16th July to midday on Sunday, 18th July, Ripon Cathedral and its grounds will be transformed into an energetic festival site. Throughout the weekend, music, arts and workshops will take place among diverse ongoing worship across the site.
Plans are well ahead for a great low-cost weekend of activity, entertainment and worship.
Programme & Events
Final arrangements are being made with thebandwithnoname, but they are already booked for Saturday Night. Comedy writer & speaker Adrian Plass will also be attending Gracefest. Since the launch, we have had interest from local bands in the event which we are following up.
We are making arrangements to have a climbing wall at Gracefest. The location is still to be finalised, but we are excited to be bringing something new and innovative to youth events in the area.
Christian Aid, Traidcraft and Living Oasis (formerly Wesley Owen) have signed up to have stalls and run events and activities through the weekend. Fairtrade shop Traidcraft will be selling snacks and drinks, as well as items of jewellery and other crafts. Living Oasis will allow festival-goers to buy the best in Christian books and music.
We are in the process of contacting more organisations to fill the nave. Gracefest recognises the channel for our faith into action globally, but also locally. As a result, Leeds based RETAS (Refugee Education, Training and Advisory Service) have said they would love to be involved; perhaps in conjunction with Together4Peace.
Again they are considering what activities they may run.
Throughout the weekend, the crypt will act as a diary room. A video diary will be compiled over the course of the weekend. Gracefest will also be running Rave in the Nave on Friday Night; a new and exciting concept that will result in Ripon Cathedral being Ripon's biggest nightlife venue on Friday 18th!
The Cathedral are happy for Gracefest to contribute to and lead worship on the Sunday Morning. Throughout the weekend a variety of prayer stations will seek to inspire worship in a variety of forms.
